Prof. Fernando J. Montilla Torres, MS
Director
With over 25 years at the forefront of advanced 3D computer graphics, immersive media, and simulation, Fernando J. Montilla is a multi-award-winning innovator whose work bridges education, industry, and cutting-edge technology. As Chief Officer of Innovation & Technology at Atlantic University, he leads the strategic vision and implementation of the institution’s technology roadmap, driving initiatives in virtual production, lab design, and industry partnerships. His leadership supports the integration of real-time simulation, motion capture, and immersive environments into academic and applied research.
Previously, he led the design and implementation of Atlantic University’s Animation and Video Games Programs. These are the largest undergraduate programs in Digital Arts in Puerto Rico. In addition, he cofounded and directed StudioLab at Universidad del Sagrado Corazón—Puerto Rico’s first academic facility dedicated to 3D animation, visualization, and interactivity—garnering an Epic MegaGrant from Epic Games and developing one of the university’s highest-performing programs. His pioneering efforts include co-designing the island’s first 3D animation and game design curricula, creating award-winning media projects, and collaborating with institutions like USC’s GamePipe Lab, Banco Popular, Amgen, University of Texas – Austin, and others.
A recognized leader in virtual production and simulation, he has built world-class facilities including the upcoming Atlantic University Virtual Production Studio, a 4,000 sq. ft. LED volume studio designed for next-generation storytelling and simulation.
As a researcher, program designer, and creator of impactful digital experiences, his work continues to shape how students and institutions embrace Modeling & Simulation as critical tools for innovation, problem-solving, and future-ready education.

Prof. Vicente Gascó-Gómez
Co-Director
Vicente Gascó-Gómez is an educator, industrial designer, and additive manufacturing specialist with over a decade of experience at the intersection of technology, education, and innovation. He serves as Fabrication Lab Director and Co-Director of the Center of Immersive Simulation And Human Interaction (CISHI) at Atlantic University.
With a background in architecture and industrial design, Vicente blends instructional design methodologies with real-world application. He is also the co-founder of Tredé, a 3D printing and product design studio with work spanning engineering, healthcare, fashion, marketing, and accessibility in Puerto Rico and abroad. His passion lies in creating inclusive, tech-enabled learning environments or products that empower learners to learn by doing.
Vicente holds a Bachelor in Environmental Design from the University of Puerto Rico, a Masters degree in Architecture from the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, a MSc in Learning Experience Design from Western Governors University and additive manufacturing certifications from Arizona State University and University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign.

Prof. Daniel Archilla
Digital Development Specialist
Daniel Archilla is a creative technologist, educator, and 3D animation specialist focused on immersive technologies. He works as a 3D Animation Director, Character Rigger, and immersive technology developer at Virtuality Labs, leading projects that integrate VR/AR into engaging digital experiences.
At Atlantic University College, Daniel teaches 3D animation and character rigging while also serving as a researcher, developer, and digital content specialist at the Center of Immersive Simulation and Human Interaction (CISHI). His research explores the intersection of simulation, interactivity, and virtual environments to enhance learning and human engagement.
With a background that bridges technical precision and creative vision, Daniel is passionate about advancing digital storytelling and real-time interaction. His work aims to shape the future of immersive media across both academic and industry landscapes.

Prof. José Ramos
Programming Specialist
José Ramos is a visionary technology leader, serving as CEO and CTO of Virtuality Labs, a cutting-edge innovation company that specializes in augmented reality, virtual reality, video game development, and mobile applications. With a deep commitment to pushing the boundaries of immersive technology, Jose leads high-impact, tailor-made projects across industries such as education, entertainment, and digital health.
He also holds the role of Director of Blockchain Development at Pioneer Development Group, where he spearheads decentralized platforms and blockchain-based infrastructures that reshape user interaction and data ownership. As Emerging Terminologies Officer at Atlantic University, he ensures that academic programs stay ahead of evolving tech trends, aligning curriculum design with the demands of the future.
A recognized Unreal Authorized Instructor, Jose is passionate about empowering the next generation of developers, combining his technical expertise with educational leadership. His teaching focuses on programming, real-time interactive systems, and experiential learning through platforms like Unreal Engine.
José has collaborated with a range of international clients and organizations, delivering award-winning digital solutions that fuse storytelling, design, and interactivity. From cultural institutions and startups to global tech firms, his portfolio reflects a rare blend of strategic insight and hands-on execution.
Whether he’s building immersive apps, architecting blockchain ecosystems, or redefining how we learn through technology, Jose Ramos stands at the intersection of creativity, innovation, and impact.

Prof. Francisco Rosario
3D Modeling Specialist
Francisco Rosario is a 3D generalist who is passionate about movies and video games. He has vast experience in modeling, 3D animation, materials, uv mapping, lighting, and rendering. He has worked on video games, animations, and commercials for Atlantic University.
At Atlantic University College, Francisco teaches basic texture and lighting, and video compositing, while also serving as modeling and digital content specialist at the Center of Immersive Simulation and Human Interaction (CISHI). He has worked in special projects like the commercial: Sumérgete en la Experiencia, Protogojin, and intros for animation and video games festivals for multiple years.
